PMO Natural Gas

Natural Gas Self Generation Plant

Peter Lucas provided concept, feasibility, engineering, and procurement management of a project aimed at installing high-efficiency natural gas fired reciprocating gensets to minimize the client site’s electricity import from the grid.

PMO_PLC

PLC Replacement and Scale Automation Program

The scope of this program was developed by Peter Lucas in consultation with the facility's owner, contractors, and site personnel. This included: implementing the terminal automation settings, replacing the dry handling PLC systems, integrating scale automation systems, and replacing end of life equipment.

PMO Greenfield

Greenfield Dry Fertilizer Transload Facility

Peter Lucas oversaw the design and execution of a $23M USD greenfield transload facility. Construction was completed in Q2 of 2024 putting the project under 15 months from approval to operation, including contractor mobilization and site commissioning.

Nutrien

Working with Nutrien since the inception of Peter Lucas, the Allan mine site is only one of the sites supported with secondment services. Project and engineering professionals are fully integrated into Nutrien Allan’s Project Management Office, supporting underground and surface project teams on sustaining and investment capital initiatives.

This service ensures project knowledge retention and that the best interests of the site are considered at each phase of a project.

Secondments_NewGold

New Gold

Peter Lucas has been supporting the New Gold New Afton site’s capital team since June 2022. These services have facilitated the procurement of goods and services, management and negation of contracts, cost forecasting and reporting, and scheduling.


Peter Lucas also developed a project document management system to support the planning and execution of critical surface infrastructure projects.

Vale

Peter Lucas project professionals work closely with Vale’s Thompson Mine Expansion project team to develop work packages, schedules, manage and coordinate construction activities, oversee contractors, and offer valuable input through project reporting.

This secondment relationship ensures the seamless execution of Phase 1 construction.

WSA: Grant Devine Project Consulting

Peter Lucas provided project consulting, coaching and mentorship to the project management team at the Water Security Agency (WSA). Leveraging the collective knowledge of Peter Lucas we provided scalable and customizable support throughout the entire project lifecycle.

This initiative supported the stage gating and funding requirements to advance the WSA’s PMO portfolio.

Cameco: Reliability Consulting

Peter Lucas works with the Reliability and Maintenance Engineering teams across Cameco’s Northern mining sites, providing consulting, coaching and mentorship. This enables these teams to build internal capacity for implementing and managing sustainable maintenance practices.  
Cameco benefits from Peter Lucas’ services by having identified operational and project risks, developed mitigation strategies, improved confidence, and optimized desired outcome.
